As you would expect, Select All selects all unlocked objects in Notebook software.  Select All Locked Notes selects Notebook objects you have locked.  Typically, you lock objects using the Objects Menu (page 115) to prevent others from deleting, rotating or moving objects in Notebook files you create.

If you want to make major modifications to a Notebook file, you can Select All Locked Notes, one page at a time, to unlock those objects on the page.  You then pull down on any of the Lock symbols, and drag to Unlock.  Then ALL of the objects on the page are unlocked.

In Simple SMART Skills: Volume 1, you learned how to go to SMART’s Education website to download pre-built Notebook files.  If you want to modify locked items on a page in a Notebook file you downloaded, the fastest way is to Select All Locked Notes and unlock these objects.
