Handwriting Recognition
When you write with a pen, the first Object Menu command is Recognize handwriting. The four closest guesses are usually listed. Here, we touched “Recognize @” and converted the doodle to an ampersand. The Macintosh version of Notebook only recognizes printed text, while the Windows version recognizes both printed and cursive text.
If handwriting recognition is not available in Notebook, go to Macintosh System Preferences and click on the Ink Preferences. You can access System Preferences from the Apple pull down menu or the Dock.
Turn handwriting recognition on by clicking on the “On” radio button. Turn off “Allow me to ink in any application” by clicking the check box OFF (if you don’t do this you will get yellow “sticky” notes all over your SMART Board interactive whiteboard whenever you touch it). |
