Tech Tips
When you purchase a SMART Board or any other SMART product that comes with Notebook software (with the exception of the GoWire), you can get a single-user version of SMART Ideas content mapping software at no additional charge. You need to get a licensing key, download the software and activate SMART Ideas (not necessarily in that order) at www.smarttech.com/support.
We will start by getting a licensing key.
Click on the Support link at the top of www.smarttech.com, and then on the lower right, click on Quick Links - Download software.
Click on the link for the O.S. version of SMART Ideas software you want.

You would click on the Download button to begin your download. However, in this case, look to the right side of the page, and click on the Register button.

This screen explains the usage rules for SMART Ideas software. Click "Continue."

Before registration, gather up your serial numbers, which can be found on lables on the back and side of the board, as well as on the shipping box. If you are in a school setting and have a lot of boards to register, just click the "Multiple Serial Number" tab.

Here, I registered an old SB560 SMART Board that was six years old, just to see if an out of warranty product serial number would work. Enter the serial number(s), click the "Add" button to input them, and then click on the "Continue" button.

Then fill out the data collection form. At the bottom of this screen, click on the "Continue" button.

SMART's website finished by displaying a "successful outcome" to the registration process.
It is up to you when you want to download software. You could do it anytime, and activating SMART Ideas later. In this example, I chose to download after registration. Let's learn how to download SMART Ideas software. NEXT |
