Handwriting Practice

Use this Notebook file that contains 500 Dolch words, to help students practice their handwriting. Click on the letter (green tile) at the top of the file to select words which end in a suffix vowel, then see all suffix combinations. For example, click on "a" to select the "-ake" suffix, then do handwriting practice on bake, brake, cake, make, rake, sake, take, wake, etc. When you click on the "Full Screen" mode in SMART Notebook, the program fills the screen. Use the pens and eraser in the pen tray, in Notebook, or in the floating toolbar, to trace and erase the student's handwriting. (This is a big file, with 243 pages), so it takes a while to open.

Clouds - Stamps - Learn about the 15 different main types of Clouds, illustrated by stamps issued by the United States Postal Service in 2004.

Mike's About SMART Boards is a well organized demonstration that you can use for a 30-45 minute after school professional development session. There are three sections, with an overview of why SMART Boards are used in education, a hands-on session with seven of my favorite interactive Notebook objects, and an overview of SMART product. Right click on any objects to unlock them, if you wish to update any content.
