This chapter explores Support, Training and Education at www.smarttech.com.  As a sample, we will show you how to search by curriculum standards for to find pre-built SMART Notebook files that you can easily download and modify.

Scroll to the bottom of the Educator Resources page to go to Online classroom resources, a list of great educational websites.

At the top of the Educator Resources page, you will also have access to almost a thousand prebuilt Notebook Lesson Activities that you can easily use and modify to fit your exact needs.  You can also go to Software Applications Available to download SMART Speller and Number Cruncher for Windows, and Coda Finale Notepad for music composition for both Macintosh and Windows.

When looking for prebuilt Notebook software files, Educator Resources is a great place to start.  Choose your country (if you are teaching modern languages, you might choose Europe or America Latina), then decide if you want to browse by curriculum standards, subject and grade level, or view all.

In this example, we chose Wisconsin Standards, Grade 6, Mathematics.  Elementary core content areas offer the most prebuilt Notebook software content.

There is a correlated lesson activity for Wisconsin DPI standard A.8.2.  Click on the blue link to “Find correlated lesson activity.”  That is because, in Wisconsin, the state standards are for grades 4, 8 and 10.  Sixth graders would fall under the eighth grade standards.

These three Notebook software files on SMART’s Education website came up as being correlated to WI Math A.8.2.  Click on any of the blue links to see more information.

A screen shot like the one above, gives us a good idea of the content in the file.  Click on the download link to download it.  Windows users can also right-click to “Save Target As…” as an alternate downloading method.
