You can install SMART Ideas software without a licensing key.  It will run for 30 days before you have to activate it.

Whenever you launch SMART Ideas before activating it, the application will load and you will see this "Activate Software" dialog box in the center of the screen.  Simply click "Continue Evaluation" if you don't yet have your licensing key.

One way to activate the software is to go to SMART Ideas Help menu, and pull down to "Register License."  Another way is to just relaunch SMART Ideas, and the Activate Software dialog box is automatically displayed.

Check your email for a "Registration Information" email from info@smarttech.com.  If this is the first time you are registering your SMART Board, this email contains both your SMART Ideas software activation key code AND the SMART Notebook 10 product key code.  In the email, highlight and copy the SMART Ideas software activation code, and paste it right into the Activate Software dialog box.  If SMART Ideas recognizes that you've put in the correct code, the "OK" button will activate (as shown above) and the "Continue Evaluation" button will gray out.  Click the "OK" button.

This dialog box lets you know that you have successfully mastered the activation gauntlet for SMART Ideas software.
